- Comments
- Sample was collected directly from profile. Taxa was identified by Dr. Kevin Hanselka. Portions of the untreated/unassayed specimen remain in the Ancient Southwest Texas Project collection at Texas State Universtiy, and were identified as "smaller fragments, not identified but likely also mesquite" by Hanselka. Stratum 238 is a "sloping fiber-dominant strat with lots of small burned rocks, in east part of profile" (from field record). It appeared to be unmixed post-depositionally, but I interpret them as displaced sediments from another area of the site, possibly an earth oven clean-out.
