Context
Feature 3, originally identified as a 40 cm-long, 6-11 cm thick deposit of black stained earth seen in the backhoe trench wall ca. 30 cm bmgs. Feature was a badly disturbed, unprepared hearth evidenced by an irregularly shaped concentration of charcoal and charcoal stained soil. Situated in eolian deposits. Max. dimensions were 52 x ca. 37 cm, 8-10 cm deep. Fire-altered rock was found in and around the hearth. Seven lithic artifacts were found in asssociation with the feature.
