Context
This was the first run on Burial 1. The date was rejected as much too recent and a second sample was submitted that was consistent with the date from Burial 2 Burial 1, a secondary interment of an adult female, with pelvic, limb bones, partial remains of hands and feet, 2 clusters of ribs, 2 fragmentary teeth; in fragile condition. Thought to be betw 24.1 and 27.7 years old, 4' 10 tall. Some of the bones were articulated: pelvis with the lower limbs attached and tightly flexed, upper right limb bones articulated at the elbows and at the radio-ulnar joint, plus possibly other bones. The most prominent feature was the articulation of the lower limbs; several bones also in anatomically correct positions. Grave goods: an oval quartzite scraper, a deer bone awl, an awl made from a smaller mammal, and a bird bone spatulate tool with angled bevel on one end.
