Comments
HhOv-73, Bezya: This small site produced evidence of a distinctive microblade and burin technology. Le Blanc and Ives (1986: 81) observed that the assemblage "was created around a small hearth, and that both the hearth and the assemblage were subsequently dispersed by natural processes such as tree throws. The charcoal itself, the calcined bone, and the heat modification of the chert specimens each point to this interpretation. We recognize, however, that there are natural processes, or combinations of natural and cultural processes, which might resemble that configuration of evidences. It is therefore conceivable that the Bezya microblade assemblage is significantly older or younger than the age estimate obtained from the radiocarbon sample."
