Context
Feature 2, a circular basin shaped fire hearth excavated into shale bedrock. It meas. 57-60 cm in dia., 23 cm deep. Fill was ash, gray, pebbly and shaley loam with numerous chunks of charcoal and fire cracked sandstone. The top of the feature corresponds with a poorly defined use/living surface near bedrock. No artifacts in fill. Charcoal was juniper.
