Context
AMS date on charcoal from Feature 1, visible at the surface; a dense concentration of heat-treated lithic debitage, which measured ca. 2 m in dia. The S side of the locus had 7 large granite rocks arranged in a semicircle. Soil in the feature varied in thickness, but was generally shallow, less than 10 cm deep. A single expedient tool, 1,280 pieces of debitage and 12 ceramicsw were recovered from excavaton units around the feature. The charcoal sample was from beneath one of the thinner parts of the cultural deposit. Given the samples depth below the cultural level of the feture and other chronological evidence from the site, this date is considered non cultural. Based on several TL tests, the feature is estimated to date betw AD 1525 and 1725.
