Context
Feature 1, charcoal sample. A small circular concentration of burned, dark gray sediment with charcoal flecks and medium-sized cobbles (32 stones weighing 7.3 kg). Meas. 30 x 35 cm in dia., 16 cm deep, basin shaped. The burned stones were arranged in a circular pattern around the margin of the feature. Considered Late Archaic. Macrobot analysis yielded fuel woods (juniper, cottonwood, willow) and 1 charred goosefoot seed. A metate with assoc. mint pollen was found near Feature 1.
