- Comments
- BiFu-VP: A seal bone was found in sediments of the Champlain Sea dated by GSC-3907 on Hiatella arctica shells (Harington, 1988: 231). Two dates were determined, one on the outer fraction and one on the inner fraction, and they are in close agreement. These dates were unconventionally reported with corrections for isotopic fractionation corresponding to 0 parts per mil (McNeely and McCuaig, 1991: 2). To make the dates compatible with others in this database, the normalized ages are expressed by adding 410 years to the uncorrected ages, thereby normalizing the dates to -25 parts per mil. A marine reservoir correction would be needed to calibrate these dates.
