- Context
- AMS date. Date is from the inner part of a split-twig figurine, Green River style. Specimen was recovered from a dry alcove in the lower Dolores R. canyon by an amateur in 1936. Based on his description, the site was later identified as Dolores Cave. The figurine was not dated until very recently after it had been in storage since 1936 and subjected to smoke at the museum where it was stored. I have given the date a credibility level of low because of this contamination and because its date is much more recent than other figurines.
