- Context
- Pronghorn Antelope bone excavated from unit N168 E794, stratigraphic level 3, in 2010. The calibrated date range was AD 1160 to 1270 and BP 790 to 680. The bone was catalogued as JA421-1168. The bone was identified fy formal faunal analysis as a pronghorn antelope metacarpal, right side. Comparison wtih other AMS dates of charcoal from equivalent cultural levels at the site is expected to act as a potential control for "old wood" effect at the site. The derived age, corrected for isotope fractionation, is exactly equivalent to several other strtigaphically similar charcoal AMS dates, indicating "old wood" does not artificially skew the site's cultural chronology.
