- charcoal excavated from Feature 12-N171 E791 L1 (base)-stratigraphic level 3 (northwest Zea mayser). Its calibrated date ranges are AD 1160-1260 and BP 790-690. Feature 12 is an oval to oblong concentration of abundant charcoal (including 1-2 cm diameter fragments), fire-cracked rock, dark charcoal and ash soil staining, and secondaruy adn tertiary flakes. The "cleaned-out" feature, interpreted as a simple hearth, left a shallow basin measuring 47 cm noth-south adn 36 cm east-west with a maximum depth of 11 cm.
