- Charcoal from Feature 10-N168 E795 (southeast quadrant) stratigraphic level 2 (base), and levels 3 and 4 (top). Calibrated date ranges are AD 1460-1650 and BP 490-300. The date is anomalously young and is believed to represent contamination by younger material, possibly through animal burrowing. Feature 10 is heavy concentration of abundant charcoal, very dark charcoal and ash soil staining, burned and calciined bone and tooth fragments, limited amounts of fire-cracked-rock, and tertiary edge retouch and thinning micro-flakes. The feature is interpreted as a surface or shallow depresseion hearth adn measures 30 x 20 cm with a maximum depth of 5 cm.
