Context
Feature 9, a shallow, irregularly shaped pit in Block 2. Date is on a bulk soil sample. Meas. a max of 85 cm in dia., 10 cm deep; originated 250 cm below site datum in Stratum 1; partially excavated into Stratum 3. Fill was charcoal-stained sandy loam with 20 FCRs. No oxidation noted. No artifacts. Interpreted as an informal roasting pit; assigned to the Formative era component on the site.
