Feature 5, a basin-shaped thermal feature measuring 48 x 39 cm in dia., 14 cm deep; significantly disturbed by rodents; dark brown fill with charcoal flecks. Sample is on fill. Artifacts: 8 faunal frags, including artiodactyl tooth frags. Interpreted as an expedient hearth used to roast portions of an artiodactyl, such as deer, pronghorn, or bison.
