Context
Feature 17, a basin-shaped pit meas. 60 x 49 cm in dia., 13 cm thick; originated at the Component 1 occupation surface; nevertheless it was placed in Component 2 based on the C14 date. Fill was gray-brown ashy silt with charcoal pieces. Heavy oxidation present around the outer edge of the pit. Fill contained 25 FCRs, 4 pieces of debitage (2 obsidian), 334 bone frags, including a bison tooth frag., artiodactyl; burning present on 146 specimens. Interpreted as a shallow roasting pit. Assigned to Component 2.
