- Bulk soil sample from Feature 4, originating at 222 cm bd. Partially removed by trenching. A small basin with incomplete meas. of 45 x 22 cm; max. depth. of 9 cm. Fill was dark gray brown, with 4 flakes, but no faunal remains or FCR. Interpreted as a small hearth, although the absence of oxidation and charcoal suggests that it was used on a short term basis or not exposed to a high degree of heat. Assigned to the late Assigned to early Transitional period of the Archaic.
