- This is one of the largest shell middens in Prince Rupert Area. In late prehistoric and early historic times it was the main winter village of Gispaxloats tribe. Site was abandoned in 1830's when Hudson's bay trading post was established at Fort Simpson. In 1859 site was reused as a potato garden until 1900.
