- DaEk-6, Ouellet, Commentaires (Plourde, 1990: 59): L'âge typologique des vases s'accorde assez bien avec les datations radiocarbones obtenus à partir de charbons de bois. Les dates Beta-18130, -18132, et -22793 marquent un écart de temps de 300 ans (1016 à 1320) qui couvre les deux premiers tiers de la période du Sylvicole supérieur datée d'entre 1000 et 1534 de notre ère. Deux dates plus récentes, soit Beta-22792 et -18131, on été rejetées, étant donné l'absence d'artefacts contemporains. Comment (Plourde, 1993: 107): Together with the scattered distribution of rim sherds and the disturbed contents of the hearths, [the] range of pottery suggests that the site was occupied at least over a few centuries, most probably somewhere between 1000 and 1500 A.D. The main occupation of the site must have been around A.D. 1300 since eighty percent of the Ouellet site pottery reflects stylistic and morphological patterns common around that date in the St. Lawrence valley and in New York State. These figures are supported by four out of five C-14 dates obtained from wood charcoal collected in five different loci distributed throughout the surface of the Ouellet site... The latest date ... must be rejected because of the lack of contemporary cultural elements.
