- OaHt-VP: An isolated walrus tusk was found resting on the surface of a raised beach. It has almost certainly been displaced since original deposition, but probably has not moved much in elevation. The ivory has been chewed by caribou at both ends (J. Savelle, p.c. to A.S. Dyke, 1997), but the weathering difference between the chewed parts and the rest indicates that the gnawing occurred long after the tusk had weathered.
