- Comments
- NiNg-1, Buchanan: This is an early Dorset site with a Pre-Dorset outlier. All four dates were submitted to date the Pre-Dorset component. Taylor commented that M-1504 and GSC-656 are too late for Pre-Dorset. I-2053 and I-2054 fall within the Pre-Dorset period, but near its end and much later than expected. However, evidence for regional and temporal variation in Pre-Dorset artifacts is still scanty, and there is no reason to reject the last two dates which indicate a late Pre-Dorset occupation at the Buchanan site.
