- Comments
- EaOp-4, Stampede Camp: On the basis of ceramics and projectile point typology, this is a very late prehistoric site, and S-826 is much older than expected. No diagnostic artifacts of an older period were found. However, the date should not be rejected, because most of the site had been destroyed by deflation. It could have been a multicomponent site, although supporting evidence is lacking. The charcoal submitted was unquestionably associated with the hearth, and there was no evidence of disturbance.
