- ObRo-2, Jackson: A Thule house ruin, House 1, yielded a pottery lamp with a Barrow curvilinear decoration. The upper part of the house mound had been removed by a bulldozer, leaving 8-15 cm of cultural debris and dirt on the floor. Taylor noted that acceptance of the two Michigan dates would place the beginning of Thule culture much earlier than had been previously believed. Thule would have to be derived from early or middle Birnirk rather than the close of Birnirk ca AD 900. Also, the Thule movement from Alaska would have to be considered earlier than previously postulated. The two Isotopes dates were closer to the estimated age but fell on either side of it. Correction of the Michigan dates for the marine reservoir effect would bring them close to Taylor's estimate. Wilmeth lists this site as OaRn-2.
