- HiTp-63, Grizzly Run: SFU-129 dates Component 2, just above Ash 1 (of the Raspberry Bog sequence) and below redeposited Ash 2, the Ash 3 "cinder" layer and Ash 4. The date is accepted as a reasonable estimate of the age of the oldest cultural occupation at Grizzly Run and is the oldest culturally associated date from the Edziza region. Another sample from Component 2 proved to be too small for dating. SFU-147 consisted of a large volume of wood charcoal from a cavity between several large rocks, which extended from the glacio-fluvial substrate to within a few centimetres of the modern surface. This was directly associated with a number of obsidian flakes but it could not, in the field, be given a positive stratigraphic relationship. It may be a reasonable estimate for the age of Component 1 and is probably a direct result of that occupation.
