- GaTh-2, Laxt'aa Rockshelter: This site is within the traditional territory of the Ginadoiks village group, one of twelve Coast Tsimshian polities that comprise the Tsimshian nation. It is within the traditional hunting territory of the Setsan lineage of the Laxibu (Wolf) Clan, one of six lineage divisions within the Ginadoiks. The rockshelter contains 11 cultural layers within 90-100 cm of deposit. Martindale's work is revealing that the cultural sequence of the interior differs somewhat from that of the coast, and he refers all three dated samples to the "Early Period" (2500-1500 BP). The Early Period of the interior corresponds to a portion of Period 2 (3500-1500 BP) as defined on the coast.
