- Also known as the Katz site - named changed in 2005 to reflect tradition Sto:lo name. name "Sxwdxwiymelh" means " where lots of people died at once". Site is a pithouse village site with ~30 housepits arranged in 3 rows running parallel to riverbank. Today, the settlement extends 300 m along the riverbank and measures almost 100 m in width. I estimate that it covered 30,000 m2 or roughly 3 hectares. The numerous house depressions, large site area, and radiocarbon dates of house floors suggest that Sxwoxwiymelh was one of the biggest and more ancient pithouse settlements in the Fraser Valley. The pithouse settlement dates to roughly 2700-2000 cal BP, which is largely coeval with the early portion of the Marpole Phase
