- Comments
- DjPo-40: The site consists of a campsite on a knoll and a kill/processing site in a swale. The latter was almost completely excavated, and two occupations were distinguished. Occupation 1 consists of a number of discrete kill episodes that cannot be isolated stratigraphically. Along with Besant points, there are Pelican Lake, Salmon River, possibly Oxbow and one lanceolate point, all of which have been re-sharpened. Occupation 2 contains re-sharpened Hanna and Pelican Lake points. Kennedy suggests that the re-working of ancient projectiles reflects careful curation and lack of access to trade networks during winter occupations when travel would have been curtailed.
