- This is an historic-era Nunamiut winter settlement. The site contains winter house remains, storage racks, tent rings, faunal remains, artifacts (stove pipe, stove, willow poles, ladder, etc.). Of particular interest is a Coffee Jar hardware cache with rusty screws, nails, metal rods, wedges, etc. inside. The walrus ivory was collected for display at the Simon Paneak museum in AKP. Sample is from stone-lined hearth (exterior) beside Nunamiut tent ring. Sample was split. Also see BETA-49169 (same piece of charcoal).
