- AhHb-7, Cleveland: This is a pre-Fur Trade Neutral village. Cooper and Savage (1994: 20) give different data from Campbell and Campbell. Analysts included E. Marchand and I. Knutson, and R. Prevec (N=7425). The faunal material is from surface collection and excavation of 5748 sq ft (ca. 25% of site). Mammals accounted for 71% with white-tailed deer most abundant. Other significant mammals are Canis sp., elk, raccoon, beaver, and black bear. Three dog burials are described. Deer analysis includes age and butchering data, with edible meat determined from talus size. Marchand and Knutson report on 769 specimens with species representation very similar to Prevec's findings. Artifacts (n=394) include awls/punches, bone/shell beads (including conch and Marginella), flakers, scrapers, modified deer phalanges, and worked teeth. Fauna: Lutra canadensis 5, Lynx canadensis 5, Lynx rufus 1, Cervidae 1, Cervus elaphus 326, Odocoileus virginianus 3303, Alces alces 15, Homo sapiens 5
