- stratum F. AMS date from a band of dispersed charcoal 4- cm below a 3-cm thick lens of charcoal previously dated by conventional counting as 9440 +/- 180. Inconsistency with respect to the 7940 +/- 250 date in the same channel suggests redeposition of charcoal washed from older strata as the F channel was aggrading. The redeposition hypothesis is further supported by the AMS date of 8310 +?- 70 from the top of stratum D. Given the high likelihood of redeposition, I have given a credibility level of None.
