- Comments
- JaDb-1, Avayalik Island 2: The most obvious feature is a subrectangular boulder outline bisected by an internal central rock feature. The structure might have housed two small family units. SI-3887 is considered satisfactory, but SI-3888 is inexplicably late. A nearby cache pit associated with this site yielded SI-3889, a date somewhat earlier than expected. Another cache pit, not directly attributable to any particular occupation site, yielded SI-3892 on walrus bone. There are at least 25 caches on the slope between Avayalik-1 and Avayalik-2. Five caches south and west of Avayalik-2 were more carefully examined and contained many walrus bones and other species. These are listed here with SI-3892.
