Comments
HjCl-2, Okak 2: Excavations produced a mixture of Maritime Archaic and Pre-Dorset materials with neither horizontal nor vertical separation of components. The cultural materials can be segregated typologically. Although no Pre-Dorset features were identified, two hearths are definitely related to the Maritime Archaic occupation. These hearths, at the southern end of the site, consist of flat rocks covered by thick concentrations of charcoal with red ochre in and around their perimeters. It appeared that a line of Maritime Archaic hearths extended some 30-40 m along the terrace.
