- Comments
- GcBi-16, Hound Pond 4: Present vegetation is tundra with permafrost, but is believed to have been spruce forest during the occupation. Artifacts include a lanceolate biface of red quartzite, assymetric knives, and a ground slate celt. Fitzhugh notes that the dates confirm estimates for the Charles complex in Lake Melville, and indicate a campsite here considerably above the active beach line. This is unusual in sites found thus far in the Hamilton Inlet area.
