- Shell midden of soft shell clams, bone fragments, charcoal, seeds, Neville-Variant point, Small Stemmed point (short-term site during earlier occupation). Data Recovery: excavation of 100 sq. m. of shell midden revealed Middle-Late Woodland occupation radiocarbon dated to between AD 535 and AD 1590. sparse but typologically diverse lithic assemblage (Meadowood, Wading River, Madison points, 3 bifaces, 1 uniface, 4 utilized flakes, 1 core, 59 flakes, 11 microdebitage, 1 drilled slate pendant, 2 hammerstones, 2 possible hammerstones, 1 pestle) , substantial bone-tool industry oriented to production of barbed ahrpoogs and unbarbed points, pottery infrequent but nearly all shell-tempered, faunal remains indicate fpocus in soft-shell clam, followed by cod fishing, mammals and birds also recovered, hickory nuts present. intensively utilized seasonally reoccupied specialized resource procurement site.
