- Feature 12, Component 1, Locus 3. An apparent hearth, discovered ca. 2 m bmgs. A circular area of charcoal stained soil, basin shaped, ca. 12 cm deep, 36 cm in dia. No oxidized soil or FCR. 16 pieces of debitage were in the fill, along with charred juniper, Artemisia, Quercus and Atriplex. Component 1 was the most deeply buried component in the excavation block and the oldest component at the site. It was clearly assoc. with a break in the soil stratigraphy.
