- Context
- Feature 2, Block 1, a FCR hearth feature. The true dimensions were difficult to discern because of rodent activity, roots, and deflation. Material was spread over an area 2 m in dia. The feature itself probably meas. 70 x 80 cm. Fill was a mixture of black charcoal stained silt and FCR. 72 pieces of FCR were noted, weighing 0.42 kg. Oxidation was present on the edge and sides of the basin. Six flakes were recovered from the fill, along with pine, juniper and sagebrush charcoal. It is interpreted as being used for cooking and heating.
