- Context
- Feature 13, Shelter 3, Stratum S, 250 cmbd. Locatedjust in front of the shelter. Oval, 84 x 87 cm, steeply sloping walls, 25 cm deep. Lower fill was ash and abundant charcoal. 18 pieces of tabular sandstone and 1 large flat basalt cobble were laid horizontally on top of the ash and charcoal. The slabs were blackened by fire and friable. The charcoal was pinon; only 1 charred tansy mustard seed found plus 3 pieces of debitage. Feature is interpreted as a roasting pit but the fill does not show what was roasted, possibly green plants on top of the stones.
