- Feature 12 is a small, basin-shaped hearth exposed in a cutbank that measures 13 cm in depth and 32 cm in diameter. The feature contained a piece of fire-cracked rock, abundant charcoal, and charred corn (Zea mays) cobs. Sample 2 consists of one of the charred Zea mays cob fragments. This cob represents an 18-rowed ear of corn.
