- DhAi-2, Cape Freels 2: Carignan finds S-831 earlier than expected. If correct, it establishes the presence of Beothucks during the extensive Dorset occupation on insular Newfoundland. Only additional such dates and sites will verify this Indian-Eskimo co-habitation of the island and the possibility that the Beothucks descended from the earlier Maritime Archaic inhabitants.
