- Comments
- DjOm-18, East Battle Creek: This is a stratified site exposed by flood erosion. A soil horizon 1 m below the surface had previously been dated to 3880 +/- 165 BP ("by Geographical Branch"), and Bryan found six culture-bearing levels below this dated level. The levels contain charcoal, large bones (probably bison), and flakes, but no diagnostic artifacts had been found. GaK-2334 dates the lowest exposed cultural level at 4.5 m depth. Bryan also submitted a sample (CMC-221) from an occupation level at 2.5 m depth, but it contained insufficient carbon.
