- Lamb: This site is assigned to the Gainey complex on the basis of its projectile point style. A date on wood (Beta-18133: 11400 ± 100 BP) from the base of a peat layer overlying clay provides a maximum limit to the age of human occupation. A series of fluted points and preforms could be interpreted as burial offerings or as an unrecovered tool cache. The Gainey complex is considered to be the earliest of the fluted point complexes in the Great Lakes region. The undated sites of this complex are assigned to the 11th millennium BP in this database.
