- Kilmer: This is considered to be a multicomponent Palaeoindian site because of the variety of point styles found there. The Gainey and Parkhill diagnostics suggest an age in the 11th millennium BP, while the Holcombe and Hi-Lo points are presumed to date to the 10th millennium BP. Two Gainey points are made from Normanskill chert, one from Flint Ridge chert, and one possibly from Gun Flint jasper. A Barnes point is made from Onondaga chert, a Holcombe point from Normanskill chert, and two Hi-Lo points from Onondaga chert. Even if the Onondaga chert was available locally from secondary sources, the other lithic sources are more than 500 km from this site.
