- Charcoal from Feature 22, identified during the expansion of excavations into X17, as was Feature 23. Fea 22 was identified at the N edge of X17 at ca. 26 cm bmgs. It appeared as a dark ovate charcoal stain with a max. length of 40 cm. It lay adjacent to a small complex of FCR, but the feature itself contained no FCR or artifacts, with the exception of a quartzite core frag. found atop the stain. Jones, 1986a, report the date as being 2324 +/-90. Jones, 1986a, gives the date as 3399 +/- 90. This is the author's conversion from the Libby half life to the Cambridge half life. For the sake of consistency within the database, the reader should use the Libby half life, as have I.
